If its running rich, the carb is probably at fault. I am assuming from your post that the engine is going too rich as it warms up. Have you looked at plugs for colour of fouling? Does it need any choke at cold start-up? Hope the engine is not overloading as it is probably only driving itself and that would therefore indicate a lot of friction somewhere in the engine. Look at float height and leakage through the float valve. Regards, RAB
