Most of the ones I have run into are real obvious. They are generally foreign of origin and they always are looking for access to your bank account info. That is done under the disguise of doing wire transfers. In most cases the legitimate buyers will call you to establish a relationship with you. Some of them have wanted pictures of wheel weights for instance, that is so stupid and should tell you right away that they are goofy. Checks are okay and anyone who wants your stuff should be able to get a check to you well in advance of the pickup date. This of course then allows you time to have it clear the bank.
