I have one and I use it for both grass and leaves. The leaves have to be fairly dry for it to work real well. You have to experiment with it to get it to work. The proper height setting will vary with how long your grass is. Like any ground-driven implement, the right ground speed can be the difference between working or not. Too slow and it won't work, too fast and it blows then out over the back of the hopper. I pull it behind a Hydrostatic Cub Cadet, the infinitly variable speeds are handy. It took some time to figure out the right combination of setting heights and speeds, but once I got them, it works pretty good.
