body work vs. new sheet metal

I just got my first tractor, 1942 farmall A $ 100.00. It has been sitting 3 years but should be an easy fix. The body panels have some rot. Any opinions on body work vs. new panels. The hard part would be the grill, or $850.00 for new metal. I don't need an original type restoration but for it to be respectable, and just for work. It would probably be about an equal exchange my time or my money. Any thoughts?
