Tractor Stops After 20 seconds

I started my 1969 MM M670 Super gas tractor this afternoon. Started a little hard, but once it got going, it sounded fine, only to shut itself off after no more than 20-30 seconds of running. The tractor has not been run for a couple of months, it DOES indeed have fuel in it, along with a new coil, new points and plugs. It seems to be either a fuel or ignition problem, but I cannot seem to pin it down. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
