diessel are generally better - no small items to maintain - plugs, points, wires, so they start better - typically farmers and some ordianry people if u shop can get diessel fuel cheaper if u get the dyed stuff without paying any road taxes on it - working hard in a field the diesel will use less fuel but probably not a big concern for you - diesels can be harder sarting in the winter - but not necessarily so - as far as expensive overhauls , etc they area all expensive - bottom line: the fact that every new tractor sold (other than the smallest lawn mowers) is diesel should point you to the way the industry feels is better
