Too young to know weather in the 40's and 50's but my grandfather (died 6 years ago) says that is snowed in the first weekend in June in the 1950's. In Southern Mi. I also will say that it seems that in my area of Mi. that the winters have been rough one year and easy the next and have kept this on/off cycle since the mid 90's, I am talking of snow amounts and colder temps.
