On the other hand I was the buyer a few years ago. Worked the deal and the seller said a personal check would be ok. Went to the bank and deposited the money. Picked up the tractor a couple of days later and paid him. A week later he called me up and said the check had been returned for insufficient funds. I went to the bank and they said my account had been closed a couple of months earlier from not being used for a certain amount of time. I showed them the deposit slip and asked how I could have made a deposit into an account that was closed. The bank manager called the guy, appoligized and wired the money including fees for the returned check.
