Are you talking about a gas or diesel? Diesel oil will appear dirty within 30 minutes of running after an oil & filter change. If you're talking about a gas engine it sounds like a taxi cab engine--lots of idling and not much hard running for long periods. On diesels, I've heard of adding a quart of diesel fuel to the oil. Don't put too much or you'll damage bearings and could also have a crankcase fire. I've also heard of folks adding ATF to the oil. Best thing to do is run the engine for long periods at operating temp and good loads and change oil and filter regularly. On diesels I like to use Rotella. If you continue to see contaminants in the engine then you have an air filter problem or your oil filter isn't plumbed correctly.
