I must go on record here and refute most of the negative statements made by some of the posters here. I run a Belarus tractor almost every day. It has been a pretty decent tractor with only some minor problems which you will get with any tractor. I am not going to say that it is as nice as a JD, Case IH, or New Holland, because its not. But where else can a part time farmer get an 80HP FWA tractor with a decent cab for the kind of money you can by a Belarus for? As far as the other statements made here, they are all pretty much B.S., except for the fact that Belarus of USA did file chapter 11 reorganizal bankruptcy a while back. As far as there being no dealers- pull up www.belarus.com or www.belarustractor.com (I can't remember which). You will get a map of the USA with dots representing dealers. Click on a dot and it will give you a dealer name. As far as not being able to get parts or parts being more expensive, they are no more expensive or harder to get than any of the leading US brands. I suspect that some of the complaints may be a result of an experience with a bad dealer and not the brand itself. A good dealer will provide good service, regardless of the brand. With all of that being said, try to get a late model Belarus, as they have made substantial improvements in their hydraulics and steering in recent years. Sorry for the long post, I just had to set the record straight.

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
