I understand it is tough to forge the "source" IP address in the email header that is enclosed in the double brackets, but I am probably as naive in that department as some who are plagued by the Nigerian Scams. I wonder... did the so-called buyer request pictures of the tractor, or visit on the phone, or email with details only a real buyer that knew anything about tractors would ask? If they did obviously they have gotten a lot more crafty. I, too, have gotten a lot of "offers" from these scam buyers that immediately gave away the fact they knew nothing about what they were supposedly interested in, and so far, I have deleted them without a second thought. If the scammers have gotten so good they seem informed about what they are "buying", then, indeed, we need to be even more vigilant. Maybe those of us who sell equipment on the 'net need to talk to about our local bankers for advice on other forms of secure payment, and bypass the whole cashier's check scenario. I suspect that if the scammers knew upfront there was a financial professional involved from the start, they would crawl back under their rock, and look for more naive prey.
