The biggest problem with the autos was the ease of getting BIG hp & torque out of the motor. Transmisions where NOT desigened for the extra. I believe the new auto is a good one and the old ones can be made to hold lots of torque, one thing to do, add extra oil cap and cooling. (i know... more than one..LOL) heat is BAD on auto's. DuaneW.
