Yup. That short leg thing started back in the old days when gas prices spiraled up to 14 cents a gal. Us poor folks had to walk. Them days everywhere you went, church, school, mailbox was all uphill...both ways. So folks learned it was shorter walking around the ridges than over the top, like the great circle route ships sail crossing oceans. Legs just adapted to ridge running. Just one of them evolution things I guess. Joe
