I am posting regarding the 4020 discussion from yesterday. I love how everytime someone puts "4020" in print an argument starts. I am not going to argue over which tractor was the best in the Mid 60's on into the Mid 70's. I go to tractor pulls and I see the red 1066 Turbo's ripping everyone a new butt hole, so therefore I know they are a strong peice of equiptment. The reason why I purchased a 4020 is that they did make so many of them. Some might say that God loves idiots and makes alot of them too, but I am looking at availability in the future of parts, and having a tractor company that hasn't mergered for the ompteenth time, and trying to secure affordable parts 20-30 years from now. I don't plow, but I do enough blading, and round bale moving to know that the dashboard hydrolic controls are a pain in the ass. However every thing else I like or can live with. Ofcourse I don't make a living with mine. It has to keep up a couple hundrend acre hobby farm. The 4020 my not be the best tractor, but for cheap reliable horsepower ,for general farm use, they are good tractors. By the way my buddy with his 1066 is now having to rebuild that fancey T/A. Another neighbor over the road had his 806 catch on fire because fuel leaked onto the battery area where there happened to a short. he atleast pulled it off the road before it burnt up. All tractors have their negitives as well as positives. Greg H.
