Repowering a W9

Im going to repower my 1940 McCormick W9 with a '74 Buick 350 and heavy duty Automatic transmission (which will be coupled in front of the original IH transmission). I will use it at our local small town tractor pulls. Any Ideas?
Anyone done a conversion like this before? Thanks,
