Need advice on replacing a PTO seal on JD-B

My PTO was leaking 90 weight oil like a sieve so I pulled off the cover and saw that the seal was damaged.

Now it all looks pretty simple but is there anything (tricks etc.) I should know when I purchase a seal and try to put/slide it on.
