Indeed....a Brockway 361 with a twin stacked 318 takes the prize! The classic Detroit "rolling idle" sounds like business just standing still. Accelerating a full load thru 13 gears is music indeed! Close 2nd is the 12V-71. Our local ski hill ran five 12V-71 powered Gardner-Denver screw compressors in their snowmaking plant for many years. When all 5 were on line the sound was beyond description. (Incidentally these pumps also made their own climate. In the dead of winter you could find green grass and spring flowers poking out of the ground 40 ft in front of the pusher fan radiators after a couple days of continuous running...)

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
