Even though I'm pretty much an IH fan I would go with the Deere. First because of higher resale value. Especially if you can buy tractors in comparable condition with about the same hours. Second because the Deere will be easier to operate. This is a plus if your wife is helping you or you hire some parttime help. The downside to John Deere is the expensive parts and this may have changed a little as Deere is now trying to be a little more competitive because of all the after market parts now available. Drive them both before you buy anything and then buy the one you like the best.
