Hey, Get a grip! You say price is that of the rear tires??? I'd buy a 830 for that any chance I could. Look at it this way::: You buy this, go thru the engine, valves no doubt need repair after all these years, and all other wear parts repaired /replaced. Then what do you have?? A great running Case 830 that will last years. At todays prices for labor, even your own, and gaskets, it is best to do everything that is needed and then you are done done. If you don't want to get into that sort of work and it is near NY, let me know. I'll buy it, don't need it but it would be nice to have. I just finished the engine on my 720 JD and what a difference, it starts on the first turn over, runs smooth and accelerates with ease, none of which it did before. Hope to break it in on spring plowing.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
