dont mess around with some of that stuff goni through your plug cause you have a good chance of melting wires when you get to pulling hard for a while. the fuses might work i dont know, but if you do it right the first time i know it works an you will never have a problem.
run a welding cable from you battery on the pickup to the back of box so it comes out right beside the trailer plug. then run a line from the trailer battery up to ware the plug is on the trailer. i wire ty them together so it like i only have one line. then use welding ends on the welding cable. so when you hook up the trailer an plug it in, you will also plug the battery in. i put a disconnent under the hood so i can disconnect the wire when not in use.
i have been doin this for years now have never had a problem.
