Busdriver is right on. The main difference between the 217.8 and the 230.2 is the stroke. 4-3/8" vs 4-5/8" . The original engine out of my 1950 Love was a Dodge 218. (Block was beyond repair)- I found a P-26 (1955 Plymouth engine) in a Massey combine that I rebuilt and put in it. Just love (no pun intended)the sound of them !!!
