Redd, I don't know what to tell you. Getting ahold of anything rare/valuable and having people clamoring for it brings out the worst in some people. I run into this all the time. If he gets enough calls it won't matter what you offer him for it...he'll just keep upping the ante until he thinks he has played it out. Very frustrating as a buyer, I know. I've had it happen with everything from parts to real estate. I make it plain to the sellers. Here is what I am willing to pay and here is where you can reach me. Then I walk. I say "sorry it is sold" and end up with a sore ear from the phone being slammed down. People can be very rude. Hope you find your part!
