IMKCMAC, thanks for the reply. The pulley sits on the shaft using a 3/4 inch diameter key/key slot. The shaft runs through 2 bearings and is held in place by 2 retaining rings. All pieces are very snug when put together and when the problem occurs, the retaining rings are still in place but the pulley has been pushed or worn out of shape. The key slot in the shaft looks like a crater by the time I get a look at it. I'm beginning to wonder if the hydraulic pump might be lined up a little off causing a vibration, eventually leading to failure. When I look at the original parts of the PTO and how well they fit together, it's beyond me how anything goes wrong. Jeff
