I know what you mean. I have been collecting for over 30 years, and I have found it has been more rewarding to buy a tractor from a person who has owned it for awhile and maybe knows some history about it. I like the old ones, built in the teens and twenties, and those models are getting very hard to find, especially in the hands of old time collectors. In the past I have sold an 830 that I bought in 1970 and farmed with it for 10 years, and then sold it to satisfy my addiction for old iron. I still farm with a 730 D JD, and it will be for sale some year. If you find a tractor that you are interested in and it isn't for sale, be patient, it will come up for sale sometime, even if you have to wait, I waited 10 years for one that I wanted to come up for sale.
