Over the past 20-odd years, I've worked primarily in Ford dealer parts departments, so I feel I've got SOME qualification to offer a reply. The E4OD transmission used behind the 7.3l Powerstroke diesel is known in Ford dealerships as the "E-4-OH-NO!" because it seems to have a high failure rate, in comparison to the transmissions that came before it. What we found when I worked at a dealership in Buckner, KY, was that the Jasper rebuilt was about the best there is on the market...fewer complaints, even better than the Ford "black-box" units that actually came out of Fred Jones Ford in Oklahoma City. Jasper has identified a lot of the failure-prone areas and made improvements that lengthen the life of these trannys, and I don't think you can go wrong with one of theirs. But Jasper's R&D comes at a price, so be prepared to drop some bucks on one...but with Jasper's 3-year, 75,000-mile warranty, and their reputation on E4OD's, I don't think you can go wrong with that product. I don't work for Jasper; in fact, some of their products I WOULDN'T recommend! But their reman E4OD is probably the best rebuilt you'll find anywhere, at any price, for this application.

If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
