I've cleaned a few hyd sumps that were pretty well crudded up by pulling the top cover and using a garden sprayer or similar with an old paint brush or such and scrubbing the insides out. Install a new gasket on the drain plug, replace the cover gasket, and fill with 134 or equiv. oil.
