i use 15-40 shell rotella in all my engines i have[14] from the lawnmower to a 450 hp. cummins and that includes 3 masseys with the 277 cont.. but if you don't know the history of the engine change it like once a week if you run it a lot to help clean it out because the gunk all clean out with the oil changes after 2 or 3 times she will be good to go. i just use the same oil in every thing it saves mix ups and SHELL ROTELLA is about the best oil you can get and i get in 55 gal barrels
