For most practicle purposes it is safe to figure
all FORD DIESELS were 12 volt negative
ground.
Since you say it is a 73 model it would be a 3
cylinder model - I believe the engine oil filter is
a spin on located left side of the block about
half way back below the center line - behind
the radius rod.
