If that's all it is,you can pull the engine,have the crank turned put in undersize bearings and replace a rod if needed and gaskets and seals for about $850 if you do the work yourself.Check it out closely,I've had some with a bad injector that causes a similar knock. But since you really don't know what you will find,figure on $1500-$2000 in case the crank has to be welded up,block hot tanked and the oil pump replaced,and any other surprises you find.I have 2 in the shop now with spun bearings,750 with 1000 hrs,and a 950 with 1320 hrs.Both are sludged up from a combination of using the cheapest car oil wal-mart sells,(by the owners admission) and overheating.Both radiators are plugged with grass clippings.If you don't want to rebuild,you can find the Yanmar engines on e-bay for $1500 up for used and around $3500-4000 for new ones.
