Shep just bought an 04 chevy 2500HD with duramax and allision, extended cab long bed. I have just over 3000 miles now so it is really new. Seriously look at these new extended cabs, both Ford and Chevy, they are very comfortable--not at all like the old extended cabs. The only difference I have been able to see is that for the extended cab the front door has to open for the back door to open, I'm sure the crewcab has more leg room BUT. The factory list rate these trucks to pull less with a manual transmission. I don't think they put the clutches in them they used to. Mine is rated to pull a 16,000 gvw trailer. I recently picked up "4 tons" of gravel (I think they were generous) the total combination weighed 20,000 lb. I want to tell you it was like there was no trailer back there. Sure I knew it because the truck didn't jackrabbit off the lights but it sure wasn't slow. And the trailer brakes did their job slowing it down. I chose the Chevy because it didn't "seem" like as big a truck as the Ford; AND the Ford didn't seem to accelerate like the Chevy. Sorry didn't look at Dodge just cause i didn't like their looks. I think the prettiest truck is the Ford but you cannot see the right front corner and you can on the Chevy. YUP this is a really long truck but I would do it again if I had to choose now. The only way to really decide is go drive 'em. The dealers will be happy to take you for a spin just cause they are trying to make a deal.

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
