This riding lawn tractor was built in 1970 by MTD. The slipping out of 2nd gear started by occouring only every now & then but over the last year the problem has increased to having to hold the shifter if in place if that gear is desired. The tractor is in overall good condition since I rebuilt the engine a couple of years ago & would like to continue using it but without 2nd gear it is useless. Is this problem common with these small transmissions & the damage quite considerable or minor. Any feed back would be much apprieciated. Thanks Todd
