You may need to tap on the sides of the rod caps with a hammer to loosen them, I can't imagine that they would be rusted unless the oil pan was full of water. Rod caps can be difficult sometimes even on a running engine. Soaking the siezed cylinders for 3 days probably is not long enough, I am currently working on an H with stuck pistons, it has been soaking for about 4 months now and I am just beginning to see some results, but the engine is still not loose. It takes a good deal of time and patience to free a stuck engine. Also, don't fall for any of those ridiculous claims made by the manufacturers of penetrating oils, I have tried just about all of them, Wd-40, PB blaster, Liquid Wrench, etc, etc., and I can tell you that they do not work, don't waste your money on these products. The product that does seem to be having some effect on my H is plain old turpentine, the real stuff, not the substitute. It has not succeded yet in freeing the engine, but does seem to be working, so try this at your own risk. Another product which I am thinking of trying is plain old vinegar, again, I can't vouch for that one. The key word here is patience. Good luck.

12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
