how to evaluate rear tractor tires

I have a jd 1010ru that sat in a barn for 5-6 years unused & both rear tires have cracks where the tire flexed (just a little low) the deepest crack is 1/4 in. THE PART THAT HURTS IS TREAD IS 99%! Question, do I just use it as is (bush hog), or spend the $500 on new tires. Except for those cracks in that one spot on both tires they do look good. thanks, lloyd
