I agree that you will want to stick with simplicity, however, I would steer away from Sears if at all possible. I have a Craftsman, and the tractor, itself, is fine, but the mower deck is junk. I've become an expert in taking the deck out from under it and replacing bearings, shafts, pulleys, you name it. (Just not very sturdy construction.) If you have a good JD dealer nearby, I'd go with a Deere. Better construction, and with last u a lot longer. IMHO
