Dear D.Mac. You got some good advice in the previous post. Big thing is get something you can get service and parts for easily. I like diesel becouse it is safer to fill the tank when the engine is hot. While anything from 30 to 60 horse power will do, remember that the old 8N's were only about 24hp and they were used for years. I think you should only get a tractor with a front end loader if you really need one. They are dangerous and you have to make sure the back end is weighted and it should have 4-wheel drive.
