With only a 4-bottom plow You should be in 5th gear, Plow wide-open, all the way down with the hand throttle only, DO NOT over-ride the stop to transport position(2500 rpm). If the tach works and is accurate You want 2000-2100 rpm, not 2500. PTO rpm was only 1900 rpm and you want to run faster than that. In really tough going You may have to drop into 4th gear but the RPM's stay the same.
