DuaneWKKC, Well said. I've been running a small business for 4 years now. The amount of red tape, taxes, and general BS that I have to deal with is overwhelming. All I want to do is create jobs and serve my clients, but the local, state, and federal governments are making it a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Our communities need businesses just like they need schools, churches, and hospitals. Business is an integral part of American society. It's about time the public started to realize this. I've seen it happen over and over again. Whenever a government needs to increase revenue, the first solution is to "Tax The Businesses!" The public loves this because they think it won't effect them, and then they act shocked when the businesses move someplace more business friendly. What did they think was going to happen? The solution seems pretty simple to me. The gov't (and the public) needs to stop focusing on the short term benefits of over-taxing and over-regulating businesses. They need to consider the long term benefits of providing an environment that is attractive to business. This will create more jobs, more opportunity & more tax revenue. It's a win-win situation for all involved.
