Bobby, You need some "flex" so that your rig will not bind up when you go through "dips." A felexable top link (chain), however, is too much flex. Most of the newer rotary cutters (brush hogs) have some provision for flex. Howse provides a slot for the top link pin. Other put a short lenght of chain in the strut between the top of the "A" frame and the rear of the deck. If you do not have one of these any welding shop familiar with farm equipment should be able to help you out.
