It burns my A## too when prices go up but keep in mind that prices are not that bad over the last 50-60 years. First, the USA uses 26% of the world oil supply (everyyear) and the US has 4.5% of the world population. We need more fuel efficient cars and trucks. In the 1980s the price of crude fell because OPEC was supplying more then needed and cars became much more fuel efficient in the 80's. (by the way I think the OPEC cartel are a bunch of greedy crooks) and in the early 1980's the alasken pipeline was finished and the US was able to increase the supply of crude. Now in my humble opinion: We (the US) needs to make more fuel efficient cars, get fuel cells ready for production in cars, and use ethanol additives for the gasoline now. Also every year demand goes up by 1-2% worldwide and remember that the price of gas for about 10 years or more was $1.20/gallon. I think that the days of $1.20 gas are gone forever. Keep in mind that the price of a gallon of milk retail is about $2.25--I dont drink milk anymore because I am lactose intolerant but just keeping it in perspective o gas vs. milk. I know of a guy that I work with drives a V8 dodge ram and he never hauls anything with it, about $50/week in gas for what!
