Mike.......Not sure of a 1010 but I own a 2010 and both of those tractors were made on the same side of the river so maybe this will help. I can't remember if it's on the left or right side but under the platform where your feet set while riding the tractor there should be a plug that set up at an angle out of the side of the tranny case. Takes about an inch or inch and an eigth wrench to take out. Make sure the oil is clear to the top of that hole and that's how you check it in the 2010. I'm fairly sure it's the same with your 1010.
