I don't know if the other replies made it clear to you, but that is your engine oil pump gears. MAKE SURE you did not loose the drive coupling for the oil pump. It could be now laying inside the crankcase. When you install the gear with the shaft, the top end of the shaft should engage the coupling. You should not be able to turn the gear after you shove it back up in place. If you can turn it, the coupling has fallen off and is inside the crank case. Without the drive coupling in place - you will have no oil pressure.
