I made my own hydraulic top link. The picture someone else posted earlier is a cylinder with external bolts holding it together. They tend to be a bit longer than some other types compared to the piston rod travel length. Mine uses welded back cap and spiral internal lock ring on the rod end of the cylinder. Thus was able to use 10" rod travel. Cylinder must be at least 2 1/2" piston diameter for category 1 tractor. I also used pilot-operated check valve between the cylinder and the operating valve to prevent leakdown. The hydraulic upper link is a WONDERFUL addition to a tractor.
