Farmin Red I have used the lye gravy. It works just don't get in a hurry. It may take several coats but it is not expensive. I used it on my JD AR. It is best to use it on a hot day put on a good heave coat (be sure to use rubber gloves and a face shield the lye will burn if it gets on your skin) when you put on a coat give it time to work and keep a hose handy to keep a mist on the lye to keep it active don't let it dry out. After it quits working use a good high presure and wash off the lye. When you are finished and ready to prime just use soap and water and wash the lye off. It must be off or the primer will not stick. Good luck just be careful. John.
