Wait theres more!! I have two of these machines. One of the old style engines and one of the new style engines. (If you can call a 40 year old engine new). With the head off check the protrusion of the liners above the block. the liners should be a few thousandths of an inch above the block surface and all be the same. Case had trouble with cracked counter bore in the old style engines.
The way you can tell the old from the new is the old had a bolt on oil filter housing while the new style oil filter housing was cast as part of the block.
Had a lot of trouble with the old one blowing water. Broken counter bore on number one cyl. Finally got it fixed.
