I've had very good success using moth balls for getting rid of all sorts of critters. Just put some saucers around in the eves and fill them with moth balls. I put them on the garage doors openers to deter nesting birds, put them in a small hanging cloth sack to deter woodpeckers, throw some around in the garden to chase off rabbits and a variety of bugs, even put some around in my hay loft to keep the mice out. Moth balls have been around for a very long time, for a reason. They work.
