Yes, you can add weight. Cast-iron wheel weights were an option, and probably weighed 150 pounds or so each. Don't know how many of those could be stacked on each wheel safely, but with most older IH tractors, you can add a bunch. Water (with calcium chloride) was also added to the tires on a regular basis. These were good tractors, and lack of traction with pull-type implements (or a loader) was really the biggest drawback.
