The tractor makers used tractor enamel when the tractors were new so I don't think there would be a problem unless the cooling system is marginal.
Of course, you don't want to put it on very heavy-
just enough to cover. If you are really worried about it, The Eastwood Co. makes a black paint
made specially for radiators. They have a lot of
other neat tools and supplies for restorers.
