Sorry, can't confirm that on the information supplied. Sounds more like a poor connection somewhere - little current flowing. Check your battery voltage when the volts drop to zero. If it is still 12, suspect a connection problem. You don't say whether the starter is meshed or not - could still be jammed! Is it free? Does the starter get hot VERY quickly? Does it sound loke it is trying to do something? My diagnosis from 400miles on the information given is poor contct at one or more battery lead connections. Check and clean them all, as necessary, and then get back here with the results. I think your problem will be solved. If not tell us exacly the steps/checks taken and then you may have to spend money. Regards, RAB
