I have a 94 vw jetta turbo diesel, good car but sumetimes parts a a bit outragious.Monday I drove a mile to town and lost power steering, got back home to find a large puddle of fluid in the driveway and the suction hose dangling, missing a o ring.Phone vw dealer for a o ring, not avaliable, pump must be replaced at near $850 plus tax for the part. the replacement pump has a retaining plate that keeps the hose secured in place.the original is pushed in relieing on the o ring to hold it all together.Long and short,a trip to napa and less than $20 for a o ring, degreaser& j. b weld and I am back on the road.Get stubborn when the saythe $850 part is toast because the 15 cent part is not availiable. The jb does the job of the retaining plate in the updated design.
