Noisy PTO

I have a 90 model 399 Massey Furgesson. It has loud roaring noise coming from the pto when it is spinning. My first question is what might it be. My second question is if it is a bearing, how difficult would it be to change myself. I have the tools and I am fairly mechanically inclined. Thanks to anyone who can give me any advice.
